3 Minute Video Introduction
"Preparing Your Horse for Shoeing"

"There is nothing natural TO THE HORSE about strapping a dead cowhide on his back and stepping aboard", says Bob Blackwell.  The Montana horseman has been called "The Horse's Advocate", and he takes that title seriously.  Blackwell states that "we have to convince the horse that we mean him no harm, and that our intentions are good for him."

Meet Bob

Bob Blackwell was raised on a large cattle ranch in central Montana. He drew his first wages there, as a young cowboy when he was 9 years old. After graduating from high school he spent the next 20 years cowboying for many large ranches throughout the western United States. During this time he also started and trained horses for many ranches, breeders, and the public.

Bob has worked with and been a student of some of the greatest horsemen of our time, and has studied many disciplines of riding. Local interest has encouraged Bob to give ranch roping, colt starting, and horsemanship clinics. He enjoys sharing his ideas with fellow horsemen/horsewomen.

All disciplines of riding can benefit from Bob's "Quiet Horseman" classes and clinics.

He strongly believes, "What's good for the horse, is good for the rider."

Featured in the Western Horseman, Bob has reached riders from all walks of life.
